Neha Mamtani used to live in Sonagiri, BHEL Bhopal and nearby her home there was an area named Satnami Nagar. She used to see there was a group of children who lived in the slums, these children had no purpose in life, and their days were spent aimlessly wandering the streets, with no direction or guidance. They yearned for something more, but circumstances had confined them to a life of despair. Since her only son was in college and husband went to work, she had ample of time for herself, she felt a deep sense of responsibility to bring about a change in their lives.
She believed that education held the key to transforming their future and empowering them to break free from the cycle of poverty. With unwavering determination, on 3rd Dec 2015 Neha embarked upon a journey to provide these children with the education and opportunities they deserved. She knew that teaching these children in a conventional way would be challenging, as they lacked the basic foundation to grasp academic concepts. So, she decided to take a different approach. She began teaching them through practical life examples, using everyday situations to make learning relatable and enjoyable. By incorporating real-life scenarios, she sparked their curiosity and ignited their interest in studies.
However, Neha soon discovered a significant obstacle. The children would often forget what they had learned, hindering their progress. Realizing that proper nutrition played a vital role in cognitive development and memory retention, Neha made it her mission to address this issue. She started providing the children with nutritious meals, ensuring they had the sustenance needed to thrive both physically and mentally. As time went by, Neha realized that education alone would not be sufficient to bring about a lasting change in these children’s lives. She understood the importance of instilling moral values and empathy within them, empowering them to become agents of change in their own communities. Neha introduced moral education classes, teaching the children about kindness, respect, and the importance of giving back.
So as news of Neha’s noble cause soon spread, teachers and volunteers from various backgrounds were inspired to join her in her mission. They came together, dedicating their time and expertise to support the children’s educational journey. With the combined efforts of these passionate individuals, the children began to show remarkable progress. The once-disillusioned children started to find joy and purpose in their studies. Their grades improved, and they discovered their own potential and talents. These children, who were once destined to be lost in the chaos of poverty, now dreamt of brighter futures.
